Why did you decide to pursue an MSc Fin and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

My passion for finance developed when I realized how much I enjoyed planning my financial independence, leading me to analyze both personal and business financial data to create forecasts and budgets. I chose to pursue an MSc in Finance to combine my strong foundation in Mathematics and Computer Science with my growing interest in financial trading and investments.

The SFU Beedie School of Business offers a rigorous curriculum that provides the perfect opportunity to hone my quantitative skills, enabling me to analyze complex financial relationships and make data-driven decisions. Additionally, the school's diverse academic community provides a growth-based collaborative environment.

What has been your moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

Beedie is no joke! I鈥檝e experienced a rigorous and stimulating program that equips us with everything needed to thrive. The emphasis on practical learning is clear 鈥� principles are taught alongside real-world applications, constantly pushing us to think beyond the textbook.

I鈥檓 looking forward to the SIAS program, where we鈥檒l simulate real-life fund management, track market trends, and practice real investment decisions. This hands-on experience, combined with presentations mimicking professional settings, provides an invaluable opportunity to learn within a safe, supportive environment guided by an experienced team.

How would you describe SFU Beedie鈥檚 culture?

I would describe the culture at SFU Beedie as authentic and growth-driven. In Nigeria, we鈥檇 call it 鈥渢alk and do鈥� 鈥� where actions match words. The emphasis on fairness and equality is evident in how the diverse community is treated. Beedie fosters a culture of continuous development, pushing and encouraging students to do and be more.
