Dr. Zhanna Lyubykh, assistant professor of management and organizational studies at SFU鈥檚 Beedie School of Business, has been awarded the . This national honour recognizes outstanding early career contributions to psychological knowledge in Canada and is awarded to a maximum of three new researchers each year across diverse areas of psychology.

Awarded annually, the CPA President鈥檚 New Researcher Award celebrates exceptional research conducted within five years of completing graduate training. Dr. Lyubykh鈥檚 work stood out for its rigorous, interdisciplinary approach and its impact on the understanding of psychological health in workplace contexts.

Her research explores how organizations can better support employees experiencing negative work experiences, such as workplace harassment and bullying. With a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied psychology, Dr. Lyubykh鈥檚 work contributes to shaping healthier, more inclusive professional environments鈥攁 focus that resonates deeply in today鈥檚 evolving world of work.

鈥淚t means a lot to me to be recognized by the CPA community,鈥� says Dr. Lyubykh. 鈥淭his award is a deeply meaningful affirmation of the importance of my research (both theoretical and practical) which aims to create healthier workplaces. This recognition motivates me to continue exploring how to support employees who experience negative work experiences, such as harassment or bullying. I鈥檓 also incredibly grateful to my mentors, colleagues, and friends who continue to inspire and support me along the way.鈥�

The award will be formally presented at the CPA鈥檚 2025 Annual National Convention, taking place in St. John鈥檚, Newfoundland, on June 12.
