Biography
Title of Project: Planning in the Contact Zone: Indigenous Cultural Heritage Management in the Salish Sea
Madeleine is a graduate of the MRM (Planning) program. Her research as a team member of the Xwe'etay/ Lasqueti Archaeology Project centres on the intersection of local planning and Indigenous archaeological heritage management through a holistic, community-led, and engaged approach to honouring cultural landscapes. Her academic and professional interests as a community planner include exploring ways to build relationships and honour local wisdom, adaptive ecological management, and watershed planning.
