Lenard J. Cohen
Professor Emeritus
Lenard J. Cohen is a co-founder of the School for International Studies at ÓÈÎïÊÓÆµ, and since 2009, Professor Emeritus. His interests include comparative political development with a special emphasis on the East European, Balkan and Eurasian regions. His research and teaching have focused on issues relating to political democratization, state-building and nation-building, and the challenges facing post-conflict environments and failing states.
John Harriss

Research Interests: Political economy of development; Indian politics; political participation and civil society in India; social policy in India and other ‘emerging economies’; institutional theories; agrarian change (especially in South India)
Gerardo Otero
Professor Emeritus
At ÓÈÎïÊÓÆµ, Otero was a Professor at the School for International Studies and an associated faculty member of the Labour Studies Program. In Fall 2024, Otero received the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences' Dean's Medal for Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in research, teaching and service. In Vancouver, Otero is a founding member of the British Columbia .
