IFMS updates continue to modernize faculty processes

November 19, 2025

SFU continues to modernize our systems to directly and effectively promote the academic mission. In 2025, SFU IT launched the Integrated Faculty Management Systems (IFMS) program, a three-year initiative that simplifies and modernizes faculty lifecycle processes such as recruitment, tenure and promotion, study leaves, course planning and TA management. These improvements reduce administrative burden and better support teaching, research and work.

Expected Features

  • Accurate, accessible data through fully digital workflows
  • Better tools for planning and decision-making
  • Streamlined processes to reflect SFU's commitment to efficiency and service excellence

User Benefits

  • Speeds up navigation of faculty lifecycle processes (recruitment, tenure, contract management)
  • Standardizes workflows across faculties
  • Enhances transparency and usability for faculty and leadership

IFMS connects and protects faculty data by integrating with myINFO and other SFU systems. It improves decision-making while ensuring security and compliance. The program will transition you to paperless processes with minimal service disruptions.

Current and Upcoming IFMS Projects
