What should I do if Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requests additional documents from me after I have submitted my application?
IRCC may contact you to request additional information/documents while your visa or permit application is being processed. If they do so, follow the instructions carefully to ensure you provide the information required by the deadline indicated by IRCC. It is very important that you monitor your , and email address associated with your account, during application processing in the event IRCC contacts you.

Submitting documents via your IRCC account
Step 1
If you were requested to provide documents via your IRCC secure account, make sure that you upload them to your account and transmit them to IRCC. After uploading the requested document(s) to your account, you must click the 鈥淣ext鈥 button to proceed.
Step 2
Next, complete 鈥淵our Declaration and Electronic Signature鈥. At this stage the requested documents have been uploaded to your checklist but have not yet been submitted to IRCC.
Step 3
Next, type your given name(s) and your last name(s) and answer a security question. You will then click the 鈥淪ign鈥 button.
Step 4
Click 鈥淭ransmit鈥 to complete your submission. Otherwise, they will not be received by IRCC, and this can impact your application in progress. Follow the for more information.
