Oversees all activities and processes for continuing and temporary faculty members and university research associates, including appointments, renewal, tenure and promotion, biennial reviews, leave applications, workload approvals, pay forms, fellowships, professorships, retention awards, retirements, and resignations, ensuring compliance with the SFUFA/SFU Collective Agreement and university policies. Provides expert advice on the application and administration of the Collective Agreement.

Provides strategic leadership in branding, communication, marketing, and advertising activities for Science. Develops and implements internal and external marketing and communication strategies.

Supports and executes strategic marketing and communication priorities. Works with dean's office and department teams to develop and implement strategic priorities. Mentors staff at all levels to improve marketing and communications-related skill sets.

Creates content profiling research and achievements of Science faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Supports student acquisition, engagement and outreach activities. Develops, executes, and monitors marketing and communication tactics across traditional and digital channels.

Provides oversight, leadership, and strategic planning in areas related to safety, emergency planning, space allocation, capital project development, renovations, facilities and technical operations for Science units, including Science IT, Science Stores and Receiving, Science Technical Centre and the dean's office operations team.

Manages the Science IT team and represents Science at the institutional/enterprise IT level to ensure Science priorities are met and integrated. Leads and develops Science-based information systems, including SASS and SSR/STC.

Manages facilities infrastructure, projects, and upgrades across Science. Oversees space inventory management and Science Stores and Receiving.

Provides strategic support to the dean and senior leadership. Sets strategy and direction across administration, finance, human resources, strategic enrollment management, marketing and communications and academic affairs, ensuring alignment within Science. Responsible for consistent application of the TSSU and SFUFA collective agreements.

Manages and develops Science's annual budget plan and quarterly forecasts. Provides recommendations to senior leadership on financial matters and delivers financial advice, training and support across Science. Develops and implements effective systems, processes and controls to support financial services and reporting.

Develops and maintains FacSIMS (Science information system) to ensure compliance with collective agreements, university policy and processes, and to support classroom operations, graduate and undergraduate students and academic affairs. Coordinates data integration with other Science and institutional systems

Primary support for the dean. Manages all scheduling, requests for information, document approvals, preparation for meetings and taking minutes.

Processes day-to-day financial transactions and develops reports for the dean's office, including invoices, payment requisitions, journal vouchers, budget transfers, travel and expense claims and deposits, credit card reconciliation and timesheet entry. Trains and supports similar positions across Science.

Supports鈥痳esearchers and grant holders by鈥痯roviding expenditure compliance review and approval management for Science's research fund budget. Ensures eligibility and compliance for all transactions against sponsored research projects and grants. Trains and supports research staff on terms and conditions, funding agency guidelines and project summary sheet development.

Front-facing position for the dean's office and primary support for all associate deans and senior staff. Responsible for daily correspondence, document approval, event planning and communications tasks.

Front-facing position for Science at the Surrey campus. Provides general support for Science staff and responds to inquiries from students, staff, faculty, and the general public.

Establishes and manages collaborative relationships within SFU and with corporations, government, industry associations, and not-for-profits that elevate Science's research impact. Provides mentorship to faculty and staff in business, communications, strategic planning, and growing their research.
