Research Assistants
We usually have a number of undergraduate students working in the lab as volunteer research assistants (RAs). These RAs play a vital role in our research and are involved in many aspects of the research process. Tasks that RAs may be involved in include: library research, assisting with the design and development of research materials, data collection, data entry, and data coding. We prefer a time commitment of at least 4 hours per week.
RAs can work as volunteers, as students enrolled in research engagement credits, or, if you qualify, as a work-study position.
We are most interested in people who would be able to commit to working with us for at least 2 semesters.
Preferred qualifications include:
- psychology major
- completion of PSYC 201 and 210
- computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and library searches
- interest in intergroup relations and environmental psychology
- interest in graduate studies
- ability to work independently as well as with others
In our lab, we are working hard to be inclusive and anti-oppressive. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and life experiences.
The Sustainability, Identity, & Social Change Lab (SISC Lab) is in urgent need of research assistants to help us collect data this summer.
We are looking for a few dependable and detail-oriented research assistants to support a longitudinal study running from mid-May to early August.
The work involves checking participant survey data once a week and sending reminder emails if needed (using a provided template).
You’ll be working online and remotely, with a time commitment of about 2–4 hours per week, on the same weekday evening each week. Occasionally, some weekend work may be required. To make sure we can adapt to the needs of the project, we need a minimum of 4 hours per week from each volunteer RA.
You'll gain valuable experience using Qualtrics (a survey software).
You will also have the opportunity to learn more about the study design, data analysis, and research process more broadly.
This role is essential to the success of the project, so reliability and consistency are important. Familiarity with Excel spreadsheets and Qualtrics is beneficial. Research assistants will be required to attend an initial 2-hour training session.
Applications are due by May 17th.
