An overview of graduate courses offered by the Department of Mathematics in Burnaby and Surrey.
This is a second course in Computer Algebra where we will see some key algorithms and tools.
Students will use Maple as an algebraic calculator and to implement algorithms.
Students will do a course project where they will read a paper, study and implement an algorithm, do some computational experiments, and use the algorithm to solve polynomial systems of equations arising from graph theory and packing problems.
Prerequisite: MACM 401 or MATH 801 or permission of the instructor.
Visit the SFU Academic Calendar to review details of all MATH/APMA course offerings.
Visit the SFU Course Outline database for archived and current course outlines.
Upcoming Exam Offerings: Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Summer 2025.
