Tell us a little about yourself, including what inspires you to learn and continue in your chosen field
I am a Mechatronics engineer with over 10 years of experience in designing and developing hardware for mechatronic systems and educational robots. I am passionate about combining mechanical design, electronics, and intelligent control to create meaningful technologies. What inspires me to continue in this field is the opportunity to build solutions that improve learning, efficiency, and automation.
Why did you choose to come to SFU?
I chose SFU because it is well known for its mechatronics program and focus on innovation. It is also equipped with fully automated smart manufacturing, Digital Twin, and IIoT labs鈥攆acilities that are unique in Canada.
How would you describe your research or your program to a family member?
I am working on implementing a digital environment for smart manufacturing systems to enhance operator training efficiency and manufacturing productivity using Digital Twin and Extended Reality technologies.
What three (3) keywords would you use to describe your research?
Digital Twin, Smart Manufacturing, Operator Training
How have your courses, RA-ships, TA-ships, or non-academic school experiences contributed to your academic and/or professional development?
Working in our high-tech lab gave me hands-on experience with advanced equipment that's rarely available elsewhere. This access has significantly enhanced both my technical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
