Tell us a little about yourself, including what inspires you to learn and continue in your chosen field
Amirhussein Zia is a PhD student in the Mechatronic Systems Engineering department at SFU, specializing in power electronics and mechatronics. Passionate about research and discovery, the focus lies in developing practical solutions that drive technological advancements and benefit society. Interests include enhancing energy efficiency, reliability, and automation in modern electrical systems through innovative methodologies and cutting-edge technologies.
Why did you choose to come to SFU?
I chose SFU for its strong research focus, interdisciplinary approach, and reputation in engineering and technology.
How would you describe your research or your program to a family member?
I research, design, and develop devices that improve the safety and efficiency of electrical systems, benefiting power grids, renewable energy, and electric vehicles.
