CAMPUS Master Plan
The Campus Master Plan provides a comprehensive physical vision and flexible planning and decision-making framework to support SFU's What's Next strategy and guide the evolution of Burnaby campus.
Burnaby Campus Master Plan
At a glance
In early 2025, the City of Burnaby announced that all community plans, including the ÓÈÎïÊÓƵ Community Plan, were being updated as required by the provincial government. Last revised in 2019, these plans provide a detailed framework for future land use and development.
To support the City’s community planning process, SFU submitted preliminary thoughts about future development opportunities on Burnaby mountain based on values and principles that are important to our community.
Next steps
SFU is committed to long-term campus planning in partnership with Host Nations, municipal leaders, and our campus community. Pending the City of Burnaby’s process with updating their plans, we can expect to start community engagement in 2025-26, with a goal to hear from our community on the right mix of future development opportunities for Burnaby mountain.
