Honours Thesis

SEE students are required to complete a thesis as part of their undergraduate Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) (BASc) degree requirements. This thesis is a formal report based on a research, development, or engineering design project undertaken in an industry setting, a university laboratory, or a combination of both. Upon completion, students must defend their thesis

Begin researching potential thesis topics and contact industry partners (for industry-partnered theses)

Contact potential professors with a brief overview of proposed thesis topic for thesis committee formation

Form thesis committee

Attend Capstone/Thesis student social event

Submit project and committee details to instructors

Complete and sign thesis committee member forms for submission and approval to enroll

Submit signed forms, along with a brief thesis objective/summary, for approval to enroll once the Fall semester begins

Defence Enrollment

Step 2: Complete the  (499-thesis-defense) to notify us of your intent to enroll in SEE 499 – Sustainable Energy Engineering Undergraduate Honours Thesis (9).

Your academic supervisor will complete after your thesis defence.
