Kristen will share her personal and professional path guided by her commitment to collective liberation. Sharing stories from various roles, experiences, and contexts to illustrate the inherent contradictions of working toward transformational aims within a university setting. Kristen invites the Network to be in dialogue about the reality of this sociopolitical moment and its consequences for our own humanity, our communities, and our work. Her invitation is for the group to grapple with big questions around university, research, and community relations – trust, reciprocity, power, ethics, accountability and legacies of extraction and exploitation. Her hope is that together we will build a sense of solidarity, a clear-eyed assessment of the current conditions, and strategize pathways for pursuing equity and justice.
