The DELF (Dipl么me d'茅tudes en langue fran莽aise - beginner and intermediate level) and the DALF (Dipl么me approfondi de langue fran莽aise - advanced level) are diplomas that are internationally recognized and valid for life. The exams are used to assess and certify the French language proficiency of participants whose first language is not French.
In British Columbia, the DELF and DALF exams are used in particular as the French language requirement for admission to the French modules in the teacher education programs at SFU (Professional Development Program - French Module and Professional Linking Program - French Module) and at UBC (Teacher Education Program). The DELF and DALF may be required by school districts.
