Local makers shine in SFU’s annual product entrepreneur competition

This year's #MadeBySFU Competition attracted a record number of diverse SFU makers from across the community! Due to COVID-19, the annual event was held virtually on November 19. Read more about the event and the winners of this year's competition at the SFU News story below!

Top Fan Favourite Award: Charlie & Paisley
Fan Favourite First Runner-up: For the Seconds Jewelry
Fan Favourite Second Runner-up: Papermain
Pop culture and pun-infused greeting card company, Papermain won a purchase order from the SFU Spirit Store. The card designs are all illustrated by School of Communication alumnus Nan Maung.
Soap company Kitten Komforts received a purchase order as well. Company co-founder Justine Munich is an SFU physics PhD student who combined her love for science and skincare and began making artisan soaps.
Slow fashion brand, Charlie & Paisley won a purchase order from the SFU Spirit Store for its sustainable hair products, which are handmade in Vancouver from natural and biodegradable fabrics such as silk noil and organic cotton. Photo: Rebecca Benoit
