Professional Development Workshop for Science Teachers
Aug 22, 2018 at 12PM
Synopsis
On Wednesday August 22nd SFU Physics is hosting a Professional Development Workshop for High School Science Teachers based on our popular Girls Exploring Physics workshops. This workshop is designed to help teachers understand the under-representation of women in physics-archive & engineering and help them encourage girls in their physics-archive and general science classes. It will include hands-on activities in physics-archive from the popular Girls Exploring Physics workshops. Secondary science teachers from all grade levels and anyone doing outreach with girls in physics-archive or engineering are invited to attend.
New this year: We have resdesigned the workshop for 2018 and will be including materials developed by the APS/AAPT STEP UP 4 Women program and the Institute of Physics in the UK.
