ABI StepOne RT PCR Machine
The Applied Biosystems StepOne RT PCR machine is taken care of by the MBB Manager, Laboratory Operations. The StepOne has an associated computer so in order to use the PCR machine, please contact the Manager (details below) to gain access via SFU ID and password.
User guides for the StepOne RT PCR machine:
The ABI StepOne RT PCR machine is a 48-well, low-throughput Real Time PCR machine.
Specifications:
- 3-colour optical LED recording system; records fluorescence from FAM/SYBR Green, VIC/JOE, and ROX dyes.
- Supports RT PCR applications including:
- SNP genotyping
- Gene expression analysis
- MicroRNA expression
- Translocation analysis
- Gene detection
- Viral load analysis
- Software provides the following analysis methods:
- Standard curve (absolute quantitation)
- Relative standard curve
- Comparative Ct (relative quantitation)
- Genotyping and presence/absence
- Melt curve analysis
