Claire Curry’s Research Race Against the Clock
April 25, 2025
Applied Mathematics student Claire Curry thought she was finished her USRA project with professors Steve Ruuth and Razvan Fetecau, but when she thought back to an algorithm that she'd worked on at the beginning of her term something clicked. With only a week left in the term she wrote like the wind and created a new program to derive some very important numbers using series coefficients.
"They were huge," she says. "To get them from one computer program to another I had to copy paste them into an email to myself, then run across my apartment to my other computer running a different program and copy paste them back."
"The USRA program was the first chance in my life to try some real research" she says.
