Announcing the SFU Linguistics 2024 Flash Talks! 

Date and time: 12:30pm–2:00pm on Thursday, December 12th, 2024
Location: RCB 7402, Burnaby campus

Linguistics students and faculty are invited to present their research using only one PowerPoint slide, with a maximum time length of 5 minutes. Presenters are permitted to include audio and animations in their slide, and the use of one physical prop is also allowed. 

The deadline to request a time slot is Friday, December 6th. Please email linggsec@sfu.ca to inform the Graduate Studies Secretary of your request. Submission of the flash talk title and slide must be made by noon on Wednesday, December 11th. 

Guests, such as family and friends, are very much welcome to attend. Tea and cookies will be provided. 

For presenters from our Fall 2024 cohort of new graduate students, there will be two Jury Prizes awarded. There will also be an Audience Prize that is open to all presenters and awarded via audience vote.
