June Scudeler (M茅tis) received her B.A. and M.A. in English at SFU and her PhD in English from UBC in 2016.
Biography
Dr. June Scudeler (M茅tis) is Assistant Professor in the Department of Indigenous Studies, cross-appointed with the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women鈥檚 Studies at 尤物视频. She received her PhD in English at UBC in 2016. Her research encompasses queer Indigenous studies, literature, film, and art. She is currently delving into Indigenous horror, particularly the M茅tis rougarou, a creature who is a mixture of French werewolf or loup garou, and Cree and Anishinaabe shapeshifters.
She has published articles in Native American and Indigenous Studies, American Indian Culture and Research Journal, Canadian Literature, Transmotion, and Studies in Canadian Literature. Her chapters are included in Queer Indigenous Studies: Critical Interventions in Theory, Politics and Literature, Performing Indigeneity, Cambridge Handbook to Queer Studies and A People and a Nation: New Directions in M茅tis Studies.
