Breathing into Balance: a Stress Reduction Workshop

Wednesday, February 12
12:30 - 1:30 pm

INFO

Breath is a unique physiological process鈥搘hile it happens involuntarily, it is also within our conscious control, and immanently accessible. Pranayama, the Sanskrit word for 鈥渂reath control鈥, offers immense benefits for balancing energy levels and regulating the nervous system.

Open to health science students, faculty members, and staff, this one-hour workshop will equip participants with eight breathing techniques that can be harnessed in daily life to promote relaxation and recharge energy levels.

The workshop is more of a seated practice, and there is no need to bring anything. All bodies and abilities are welcome at this event!

This will be hosted by Jaden Gornall, a health sciences student in his final semester at SFU. A C-IAYT yoga therapist and yoga instructor, he is honoured to impart somatic practices to guide others towards experiencing greater ease in body and in mind.

Free refreshments and food will be provided.
