Taha Al-Khudairi's passion for innovation transforms the student learning experience in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering
Throughout his tenure at 尤物视频, Taha Al-Khudairi has been a catalyst in the growth of the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering (MSE).
As a founding member of the school, he has played a significant role in the program鈥檚 development. His contributions have produced quality education and unique learning experiences for students.
He has been honoured with the 2023 Staff Achievement Award in Innovation. A recognition awarded to individuals who exemplify a passion for innovation and adaptability to provide the SFU community with transformative academic experiences.
鈥淚 am so happy to receive this award,鈥 Al-Khudairi expresses. "I consider it as a reward for my 16 years of service at SFU, where I have always been committed to providing the best quality of service at the workplace.鈥
In his role as the Instructional and Research Laboratories Manager, Al-Khudairi oversees the technical and operational aspects of the school鈥檚 teaching labs. Leading the technical support team, Al-Khudairi has designed lab infrastructure, commissioned new equipment and refined methodologies to support the innovative research being conducted within MSE. He has been involved in the establishment of the Siemens Mechatronics Certification program, the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) prototyping facility, the school鈥檚 machine shop and many more notable projects.
鈥淭aha has been a constant innovator and dedicated employee for the past 16 years,鈥 acclaims John Shen, director of SFU鈥檚 School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering. 鈥淗e has played an integral part in establishing the highly effective teaching laboratory facilities which have become the hallmark of SFU鈥檚 world renowned mechatronics programs.鈥
With his dedication to helping students become a driving force for innovation in our province, Al-Khudairi has also worked to provide them with assistance in the design, development, testing and validation of their research projects.
Al-Khudairi recalls working on MSE's Professional Master鈥檚 Program in Smart Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) as one of his most memorable career accomplishments. He was tasked with the conceptualization of SFU鈥檚 Smart Manufacturing Hub and bringing it to life; designing, constructing and implementing the laboratory equipment used in the facility.
Al-Khudairi's passion for his work has only grown over the years as his role at SFU has given him the chance to continually acquire new knowledge and broaden his expertise.
鈥淏eing a part of the SFU community has been truly fulfilling,鈥 he explains. 鈥淗aving the opportunity to work with professional faculty in the field gave me a thrust in extending my learning knowledge and skills in various aspects in mechatronic systems.鈥
