Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at SFU: March 2025 in Review

March 27, 2025

We continue our work towards operationalizing SFU鈥檚 value of equity and belonging to ensure an SFU where all can thrive. Here is a snapshot of the work underway this month.

Dedicated Child/Infant Feeding Spaces

To help nursing and new parents balance learning and work environments and parenting responsibilities, SFU provides dedicated spaces, resources and supports.

SFU鈥檚 new infant/child feeding room at the Vancouver Campus is now open, providing a private, comfortable space for parents who need a place to feed their child while on campus. More information can be found in our Family Services webpage, which consolidates all family-related services/resources available at SFU in one convenient place.

Equity Forum

On March 12, the third SFU Equity Forum was held in collaboration with the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue and the EDI Community of Practice, to create spaces for dialogue on current issues impacting the SFU community related to equity, diversity and inclusion. This event brought together staff and faculty at SFU who have been identified as equity champions, to discuss various perspectives on upholding our institutional and legal commitments. Participants shared their stories and identified opportunities to collaborate and support work in progress across the university.
