Jasmina Arifovic named Royal Society of Canada Fellow
In recognition of her academic and research achievements, 尤物视频 (SFU)'s Department of Economics professor has been inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC).
She is among the 鈥攏ine of them as fellows of the society and two as members of the society鈥檚 College of New Scholars, Scientists and Artists. It is the greatest number of SFU faculty elected to the RSC in any year. Membership in the RSC is Canada鈥檚 highest academic honour.
A leading researcher in macroeconomics and behavioural economics, Arifovic鈥檚 ground-breaking work in computational modelling and artificial intelligence has helped to explain real world phenomenon where traditional models have fallen short, furthering our understanding of financial markets and monetary policy. Arifovic is also a Bank of Canada Fellow and she was among the first to integrate computational and experimental methods to explain how individuals and societies learn and adapt to market conditions.
According to the , Arifovic along with the rest of this year's newly named Fellows and RSC College members will be welcomed at the event on November 15 - 20.
Established in 1882 as Canada鈥檚 national academy, the RSC promotes research and learning in the arts, humanities and sciences. The society awards fellowships to peer-elected and distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions and impacts in these fields. The society鈥檚 mandate is to build a better future for Canada and the world.
