Jeffrey Crompton
Adjunct Faculty
Areas of interest
Glacier dynamics, low temperature aqueous geochemistry, alpine permafrost, alpine geohazards
Dr. Crompton completed his PhD with Dr. Flowers at SFU in 2019, studying the influence of bedrock geology on glacier dynamics in the St. Elias Mountains, Yukon. Dr. Crompton is now a Research Scientist at the Geological Survey of Canada in Vancouver, where he leads a multidisciplinary effort to understand the alpine geohazards of deglaciation. Through his multidisciplinary activities in the Canadian Cordillera, Dr. Crompton鈥檚 research covers a wide range of earth surface processes in the cryosphere from subglacial clay-mineral formation and glacier dynamics to the development of km-scale lineaments in alpine terrain.
