Imperial Entanglements, Global Justice
Hosted by SFU Global Asia and David Lam Centre in collaboration with the Xinjiang Documentation Project.
Please join SFU’s Global Asia Program as we host members of Lausan Collective in conversation with local academics and organizers. Panelists will discuss Lausan’s achievements over the last five years; ongoing political struggles in Hong Kong and its diasporas; and the challenges and possibilities of global solidarity work towards projects of Indigenous liberation, racial and labour justice, abolition, and decolonization worldwide.
Lausan 流傘 is a collective of writers, researchers, activists and artists from Hong Kong and its diasporas who first came together in 2019 in order to translate and amplify left interventions in Hong Kong’s Anti-Extradition Bill movement. Today, through organizing, translation, and original analysis, Lausan aims to build solidarity on the international left and explore radical movements in Asia and its many diasporas.
