From IT Services | SFU Wi-Fi security certificate renewal on March 7
March 03, 2022
This message was sent to all staff and faculty. No response required.
Good morning
To continue to provide stable and secure Wi-Fi at SFU, the WiFi security certificate will be updated on March 7 across all SFU networks and campuses.
This will impact all devices currently configured to the SFUNET-SECURE and eduroam WiFi networks.
What you need to know
- Upon arriving on campus on or after March 7, to access SFU WiFi networks you will be required to update the Wi-Fi security certification for each device you use to connect.
- Your device will prompt you to accept a new SFU Wi-Fi security certificate, or to re-enter your SFU ID and password. Please do so to ensure your Wi-Fi certificate is updated.
- If you have an SFU Managed Device or are using a Windows operating system, your update should be automatic, and no action is required.
- If you are not prompted and not using a managed or Windows device, you will need to perform this action manually. A complete list of instructions based on operating system is available at cloudpath.its.sfu.ca. A manual update can be done at any time before March 7, on or off campus, however Android users will need to update on or after March 7.
Need Support?
- If you experience difficulties connecting to the SFU wireless networks after this renewal, contact the IT Service Desk (its-help@sfu.ca), your local IT support staff or go to an IT Service location: /information-systems/get-help.html.
- IT Services support kiosks will be available to assist community members on all campuses on March 7, 8 and 9. More information will be listed here: /information-systems/services/wireless-connectivity.html.
With cyber-attacks on the rise, cyber security is more important than ever. We appreciate your cooperation in taking these required steps.
