Learn the laws that are relevant to starting a new business or managing an existing business in Canada. You will explore the history, workings and interpretations of the Canadian legal system and the laws related to various business ownership structures. You will also learn how to create contracts and mitigate contract breaches, and discover various ways to resolve contractual or employment-related disputes. Specific topics include: torts, contracts, negotiable instruments, forms of business organizations and credit transactions, intellectual property, rights infringement and property loss or damage.

  • Analyze principles of wrongful acts or infringement of rights of a person or business in order to determine appropriate remedies
