City Program director named one of B.C.’s most influential business leaders
Congratulations to City Program director Andy Yan on being named to the list. Published annually, the list features 500 business leaders who make a notable impact on B.C.鈥檚 communities, industries and economy. Yan was recognized in the urban planning and design category for his work on advancing knowledge on urban issues.

Prior to joining the City Program in 2016, Yan was an urban planner and researcher whose experience extended to projects in Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City and New Orleans.
His previous honours include the Planning Institute of British Columbia鈥檚 award for Leadership in Advocacy and Innovation and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada鈥檚 Advocate for Architecture award. He also received the 2018 President鈥檚 Newsmaker Award at SFU for his ongoing appearances in local, national and international media outlets, where he shares his extensive research and insightful commentary on urban issues affecting Metro Vancouver.
