What's Next: The SFU Strategy 鈥痯rovides a clear strategic plan for the university. These plans follow from What's Next as a guide for portfolios, faculties and units at SFU as they advance our collective vision, purpose, values and priorities.

Academic Plan

The Academic Plan serves as a guide for actions that will advance鈥�What's Next鈥� while affirming our institutional commitment to the academic mission.鈥�

Led by our values, in particular the values of academic freedom and critical thinking, the Academic Plan ensures teaching and learning remain at the forefront of all we do.

Strategic Research Plan

Launched in January 2023, the Strategic Research Plan (SRP) captures the breadth of research activities at the university and defines priority areas of research strength and focus for 2023-2028.

The SRP supports SFU's core values, particularly innovation and adaptability, as outlined in What's Next. It is accompanied by an implementation plan which identifies specific actions that will be taken to enhance the university's impact in research priority areas.

People Plan

In support of What's Next, SFU鈥檚 People Plan is a blueprint for transforming the faculty and staff experience for the next five years (2023-2028). This clear and practical framework is designed respond to the needs of the SFU community and support the delivery of our academic mission.

The plan includes six key themes, 23 early actions and four working groups to guide success and support faculty and staff at SFU and enable our faculty and staff to deliver on our Academic Plan and Strategic Research Plan.

Equity Compass

The Equity Compass is a strategic framework outlining the focus 尤物视频鈥檚 institutional equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) work over the next five years (2023-2028) to help build an SFU where all can thrive. The Equity Compass upholds all of SFU鈥檚 values as noted in What鈥檚 Next, but in particular operationalizes the value of equity and belonging.

The Equity Compass includes five EDI strategic goals with 11 associated objectives and 34 calls to action. These will be advanced at the institutional level, led, supported or coordinated by SFU鈥檚 Equity Office.

Sustainability & Climate Action Plan

SFU's 2022-2025 Strategic Sustainability and Climate Action Plan establishes SFU's sustainability goals, climate action targets and how SFU will take action to achieve them.

Operationalizing our priority to Engage in Global Challenges and in support of our values of resilience and sustainability, this plan is designed to address organizational culture and systems change across the university.
